    At Edison State Community College, the health, safety and well-being of our students, faculty, staff and their families is of the utmost importance. If you are registered this fall for an onsite course, you will be expected to follow specific guidelines established by the CDC, Ohio Department of Health, local health departments and the College. Please review these guidelines and keep them in mind.

    All location occupants must

    • Facial coverings are not required for employees, students or visitors at any Edison State location. Masks are most certainly acceptable and we encourage you to make the best choice for your personal health and for the campus community as a whole.
    • All faculty, staff and students will be required to utilize the new ID card swipe-in system. By utilizing this system, individuals are confirming commitment to adhering to Edison State safety and health protocols. 
    • Clean personal space(s) used in classrooms (cleaning supplies provided).

    Additional information

    • Water fountains will remain closed. Some water fountains have the capacity to fill water bottles.
    • Vending machines will be operational.                                                                
    • In-person services will be available, including the library and tutoring services. 

    Fall 2022

    Edison State is committed to keeping our locations clean and safe, while providing the highest level of education and services to our students. In addition to the procedures listed above, Edison State will ensure that all classrooms are sanitized between classes, high touch areas are cleaned regularly and all safety protocols are followed by all individuals entering any of our locations. We strongly encourage you to monitor both Blackboard and your Edison State email frequently for updates from administration, instructors and advisors. The following is a summary of information and resources that you may need.

    Understanding your Fall 2022 schedule—
    How, when and where your classes will be held

    • Some Fall courses will be delivered in the WEB/FLEX format. WEB/FLEX classes consist of instruction delivered in-person—at an Edison State location—in conjunction with some ONLINE or DISTANCE-LEARNING requirements. 
    • Fall courses designated or referred to as SYNCHRONOUS-LEARNING sessions are ONLINE sections, whereby students are required to virtually attend the class during the meeting times indicated in MyESCC.  

    Resources available to you

    • There are TWO convenient dropboxes at the Piqua Campus—one is located outside the Robinson Student Career Center—the other is located outside the North Hall entrance.
    • Instructors are available to assist you with any course-related questions that you may have.
    • Review your course syllabus for your instructor's contact information.
    • Stay in contact and reach out early and regularly with any questions or concerns. 
    • If you need any other type of assistance, please contact your Career Pathways Advisor first. Names and contact information for advisors can be found on this page.

    Below are recommendations for proper hygiene necessary to contain the spread of the COVID virus.

    • Avoid close contact with people who are sick.
    • Avoid touching your eyes, nose and mouth.
    • Stay home if you are sick.
    • Cover your cough or sneeze with a tissue and throw the tissue into the trash.
    • Clean and disinfect frequently touched objects and surfaces using a regular household cleaning spray or wipe.
    • Wash your hands often with soap and water for at least 20 seconds, especially after going to the bathroom; before eating; and after blowing your nose, coughing or sneezing.
    • If soap and water are not readily available, use an alcohol-based hand sanitizer with at least 60% alcohol. Always wash your hands with soap and water if your hands are visibly dirty.
